JapanSoc FAQ »

Why do my comments disappear?

The most common reason for your comments not showing is that they have gone into a moderation queue and need to be approved by a moderator.

Otherwise, comments are hidden when they get 5 umeboshi* (i.e. negative ratings). The comment bar is still visible and the comments can be viewed by clicking the “Show” link. Comments are “buried” like this by JapanSoc users, not the site admin.

If your comment has completely disappeared from the page, it is either pending approval or has been deleted with 20 umeboshi*. If you feel you’ve had your comment removed unfairly, you can contact Nick for clarification of the reason, but please read the Terms of Service first, and understand that the comment cannot be recovered if deleted.

* subject to change.
